Grape is an important fruit crop of the world contributing to economies of several countries due to its various uses including wine productin. The production, productivity ans economic gain substantially suffers due to vagaries of various disease attacking the grape crop world over. A grape is a fruiting berry of the deciduous woody vines of the botanical genus Vitis . Grapes can be eaten row or they can be used for making wine , jam,juice,jelly,grape seed extract,raisins,vinegar,and grape seed oil.grapes are a non-climactic type fruit, generally occurring in clusters.Grape virus diseases are caused by microscopic partcles that are composed of generic material(DNA or RNA) inside a protective protein coat.Viruses are much smaller than bacteria and fungi, and require very specialized tests for their detection. Once inside a living plant, viruses have the ability to multiple by taking over plant cells and reprogramming them to make more virus particles. In grapevine the virus will spread systemically to all parts of the vine (root and vegetative parts).Once a plant is infected, it will remain so for life the book will prove its usefulness world over to the students of plant pathology, to research workers, extension workers and most importantly to grapevine growers who wishes to save their crop from vagaries of grape diseases.
