| General note | Indian agriculture is at a crossroad facing food insecurity, growing ecological imbalance, stagnation of National resources, decreasing diversity, spread of unsustainable agricultural practices and threat from global market. Pests are major biotic constraints in achieving the goal of self sufficiency in quality food production. Losses due to pests at National level vary approximately around 18%, depending upon the genetic constituent of crop, its health & governing environment. Adoption of ecofriendly approaches against the plant diseases is need of the day. The present Book “Plant Diseases: Biocontrol Management” incorporate critical review and research articles on plant diseases and their management practices on important agricultural crops and vegetables. This volume contain nine chapters on diseases caused by fungi, bacteria, nematodes, viruses and phytoplasma and their effective newer management practices.
