Fresh water fishes provide valuable source of food supply to the in habitants of the countries located in tropical regions. Fisheries , including aquaculture provide an important source of protein food, employment , trade and economic well being for the present and the future generation. This resources are assumed to be an unlimited gift of nature.
The problem of Protein gap" at present is more acute. The shortage of conventional food agaravates the problem. Producing more sea and water fish resource will definitely support not only the present population of the world as well as India.
