This book entitled “Rural Entrepreneurism” is a compilation of research papers presented in a National level seminar organised by the Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Cardamom Planters Association College, Bodinayakanur (Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai) under the Directorship of Dr. S. Maria John, Reader in Commerce, Cardamom Planters Association College, Bodinayakanur, Tamilnadu. The seminar was organised mainly to focus the role played by the rural entrepreneurs in the socio economic development of the country and the various problems faced by them. Research papers were received from the faculty members of different universities and colleges on different aspects of Emerging Trends in Rural Entrepreneurism, Prospects and Challenges of Rural Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurism in the Cooperative and Information Technology sector. As the contents of the research articles were highly informative and are expected to be useful to the general public, research scholars, students and fellow-faculty and such articles are compiled in the form of a book. This publication is mainly intended as part of the effort in creating awareness among the readers about the need for rural development through creative entrepreneurship in different walks of life.
