Its adverse impact on the everyday lives of people is increasing in magnitude and intensity. That more and more people are becoming aware of this hazard is evident from the fact that National Environmental Engineering Research Institute is inundated with queries relating to various aspects of environmental pollution. This book has been prepared to present the environmental status of India, study various pertinent issues and suggest measures to mitigate the harmful effects of environmental pollution. It is divided into seven main sections, each dealing with an important aspect of environmental pollution. The Air Pollution section describes the different sources and types of air pollution, the status of air quality, the concerns and inadequacy in management and control and their related health impacts. The section on Water studies water resources, their distribution across India and the major contaminants that pollute water. One section of the book exclusively deals with the problem of wastewater generated by industries and municipal sewage. The section on Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste categorises the types of waste generated and suggests different treatment options thereof. The challenges of disposal of hazardous wastes have also been discussed. Pollution related problems in soil and land use have been analysed in Land Environment section. The book analyses all the important aspects of environmental pollution and suggests measures to keep it under control. It will be useful to students, teachers, researchers, policymakers and common readers. 9788126906987

Place hold on Environmental Status of India

Theories of Agricultural Finance
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Jugale, V B.
New Delhi Atlantic Publishers and Distributors 1991 .
156

Place hold on Theories of Agricultural Finance

Towards Village Banking
<dc:identifier>ISBN:9788126902187</dc:identifier>

By Jugale, V B.
New Delhi Atlantic Publishers and Distributors 2003 .
113 , The restructurisation of financial sector has wider implications on the macro-economic variables operating in the money market. The trend of village banking is a dint to the existing co-operative and commercial banking system in India. This book is an outcome of a continuous research made by the author in the field of rural credit in India. The author’s scheme of Co-operative Village Bank has been empirically evidenced and tested in the case of Mini Kisan Banks i.e., a conversion of Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Societies (PACS) into a banking unit in Kolhapur District (Maharashtra). The Co-operative Village Banking (CVB) was initially highlighted in one of the books of the author. The same has been empirically tested and revised in the framework of financial sector reforms and village banking trend worldwide. His alternative model has attained a good result in Kolhapur District. Hence, it is advocated as an alternative model of rural co-operative credit system in India. This will be a new impetus to the co-operative movement in the new millennium 9788126902187

Place hold on Towards Village Banking

General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money
<dc:identifier>ISBN:9788126906581</dc:identifier>

By Keynes, John Maynard.
New Delhi Atlantic Publishers and Distributors 2012 .
351 , John Maynard Keynes is the great British economist of the twentieth century whose hugely influential work The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money is undoubtedly the century’s most important book on economics—strongly influencing economic theory and practice, particularly with regard to the role of government in stimulating and regulating a nation’s economic life. Keynes’s work has undergone significant revaluation in recent years, and “Keynesian” views which have been widely defended for so long are now perceived as at odds with Keynes’s own thinking. Recent scholarship and research has demonstrated considerable rivalry and controversy concerning the proper interpretation of Keynes’s works, such that recourse to the original text is all the more important. Although considered by a few critics that the sentence structures of the book are quite incomprehensible and almost unbearable to read, the book is an essential reading for all those who desire a basic education in economics. The key to understanding Keynes is the notion that at particular times in the business cycle, an economy can become over-productive (or under-consumptive) and thus, a vicious spiral is begun that results in massive layoffs and cuts in production as businesses attempt to equilibrate aggregate supply and demand. Thus, full employment is only one of many or multiple macro equilibria. If an economy reaches an underemployment equilibrium, something is necessary to boost or stimulate demand to produce full employment. This something could be business investment but because of the logic and individualist nature of investment decisions, it is unlikely to rapidly restore full employment. Keynes logically seizes upon the public budget and government expenditures as the quickest way to restore full employment. Borrowing the money to finance the deficit from private households and businesses is a quick, direct way to restore full employment while at the same time, redirecting or siphoning off the funds from the private sector which caused the over-production is in the first place. Keynes’s theory is unquestionably significant in understanding of modern economics. Far from being destructive, it alone has been responsible for nearly 60 years of growth without a major depression as we experienced worldwide in the 1930s. While the present book is indispensable for the students, researchers and teachers of Economics, it is highly useful for the general readers keenly interested in understanding nation’s economy. 9788126906581

Place hold on General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money

Indian Economy : Vision, Reality, Challenges
<dc:identifier>ISBN:9788126906820</dc:identifier>

By Narula, Uma.
New Delhi Atlantic Publishers and Distributors 2007 .
120 9788126906820

Place hold on Indian Economy : Vision, Reality, Challenges

Interpreting Drama
<dc:identifier>ISBN:978-81-269-1348-0</dc:identifier>

By Mane, Prabhanjan.
New Delhi Atlantic Publishers and Distributors, New Delhi 2010 .
120 , Interpreting Drama is a multifaceted study of drama as a form and is meant primarily for students of English at the university level. 978-81-269-1348-0

Place hold on Interpreting Drama

Companion Teaching of English
<dc:identifier>ISBN:978-81-7156-990-8</dc:identifier>

By Salim, B.
New Delhi Atlantic Publishers and Distributors, New Delhi 2013 .
213 , The book, is designed to attract the students and teachers to the seminal art of the teaching of English as a second language. 978-81-7156-990-8

Place hold on Companion Teaching of English

Studies in ELT, Linguistics and Applied linguistics
<dc:identifier>ISBN:978-81-269-0350-4</dc:identifier>

By Ray, Mohit K.
New Delhi Atlantic Publishers and Distributors, New Delhi 2012 .
251 , Thirty essays that constitute this volume explore in-depth various aspects of the English language, English Language Teaching, functional, notional and communicative approaches to material production and syllabus design, different kinds of English, different uses of English in literary works, application of linguistic theories to the study of literature, translation and semantics. 978-81-269-0350-4

Place hold on Studies in ELT, Linguistics and Applied linguistics

Teaching English As An Additional language
<dc:identifier>ISBN:978-81-269-0778-9</dc:identifier>

By Dash, Neena & Dash, M.
New Delhi Atlantic Publishers and Distributors, New Delhi 2007 .
232 , The present book has been prepared with meticulous care as per the new syllabus on English Method for B.Ed. course. C..
New Delhi Atlantic Publishers & Distributors(P) Ltd. 2008 .
491 , Retailing is the set of business activities that adds value to the products and services sold to consumers for their personal or family use. Often people think of retailing only as the sale of products in stores. But retailing also involves the sale of services: overnight lodging in motel, a doctor’s exam, a haircut, a video-tape rental or a home-delivered pizza. Not all retailing is done in stores. A retailer is a business person who sells products or services or both, to consumers for their personal or family use. Retailers attempt to satisfy consumer needs by having the right merchandise, at the right price, at the right place, when the consumer wants it. Retailers also provide markets for producers to sell their merchandise. Retailers are the final business in a distribution channel that links manufacturers to consumers. A distribution channel is a set of firms that facilitate the movement of products from the point of production to the point of sale to the ultimate consumer. Retail Management is a comprehensive textbook designed to meet the needs of all the students and teachers of the subject, professionals in this field and those pursuing MBA and diploma in business and retail management. It is also a valuable source of information for industrialists associated with retail and managers and employees working in malls and retail store establishments. It provides an in-depth coverage of retailing theory and explains the key concepts of retailing through numerous illustrations, examples, exhibits, tables, figures and case studies. Beginning with introduction the book discusses retail location, store design and layout, brands, pricing and retail promotion strategies. The book also discusses challenges faced by retailers in India and other developing countries. It goes on to discuss category management, supply chain management, human resource management, inventory management, internet retailing, information technology and retailing. Finally, it discusses strategies to deal with booms and slumps, and legal and ethical issues in retailing. 978-81-269-0981-0

Place hold on Retail Management

Foundations of Education
<dc:identifier>ISBN:978-81-7156-652-5</dc:identifier>

By Bhattacharya, Srinibas.
ATLANTIC 2008 .
147 978-81-7156-652-5

Place hold on Foundations of Education
